Skies continue to clear in the north this afternoon with Waikato the latest region to see blue skies. Auckland should see a continual clearance this afternoon and evening with a cool night on the way.
We’re in the process of working out our Anzac Day forecast – however data sent to us remains to conflict with some computer models and even the MetService severe weather outlook. We hope to have a better idea tomorrow when we publish our Anzac day forecast.
Clear skies prevail over the rest of New Zealand – not an overly warm day today and you can bet your bottom dollar once that sun goes down the air temps will drop quickly!
A frosty night for many.
Current Extremes
The coldest centres are Gore with 9, and Lumsden and Taupo on 10.
The warmest centre is currently Tauranga with 19 degrees,
The wettest region is around Whangarei – but showers will clear there in the next hour or two.
The windiest place is Hicks Bay in East Cape with near gale force winds gusting 67km/h.
The calmest spots are Milford, Wanaka and Lumsden with a hardly noticeable 2km/h breeze under a ridge of high pressure.
