Australia is dealing with floods across states in the south and centre of the country and some of that rain spilled over to the North Island of New Zealand during the weekend.
This week more heavy rain is likely for Australia, in places that aren’t normally wet (like desert areas in the central part of Australia!) and yet another low will drift from Aussie towards NZ later this week. Again it looks to aim for the North Island and western sides of the nation, while southern and eastern areas are driest.
Here’s the 10 day rain outlook (courtesy of the US Government) for New Zealand & Australia – and it shows this wetter than usual trend in central Australia and drier trend in south/south eastern parts of the South Island of New Zealand continuing:
