It’s probably not the news you’re wanting to hear but the weekend is again looking fairly wet and windy across the country – the only good news, some dry weather is in the mix too.
As yet another low crosses New Zealand from the west the wind flow will tilt back to the northerly quarter. This spring pattern means a mixture of rain, wind and sun as the low passes by.
Rain or showers are predicted in most centres on Saturday with showers and sunny spells increasing on Sunday. Southland and Otago may well see some of the driest and sunniest weather this weekend.
Rain may be enough to prompt warnings in Northland for a time earlier on Saturday.
A brief period of settled weather is predicted on Monday or Tuesday ahead of a much larger low being forecast for Wednesday next week which may see more rain warnings for the North Island.
