A full lunar eclipse was underway this morning – but two problems, cloud blocked the view for many while the moon setting before the full eclipse occurred cancelled the chances of a full viewing for most New Zealanders.
However some did get the chance to see some of it, as seen in this photo by WeatherWatch.co.nz reader Andrew Blair, of Levin.
“Lunar eclipse taken just before it faded from view in Levin” wrote Mr Blair when he sent us this photo.
Other readers responded too:
“Can u tell the clouds to bugger off so I can see it please!” wrote Katy Flintoff on our Facebook page.
“BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!” write Chantal Hempseed.
Jo Clarke wrote “It’s already gone too low to see from my house now :(“.
If you have lunar photos from this morning’s lunar eclipse you can upload them here.
