Strong winds appear to be the feature this week with some heavy rain due in some western parts too.
Milder temperatures are expected, particularly in the east, as winds from the north and west are expected to blow for much of the week.
Winds from the west often increase at springtime but heavier precipitation often accompanies the strong winds and this week appears to be no exception.
Frosts appear to be all but gone this week for more than 90% of the nation, due to the unstable conditions and overnight lows may not drop below 10 degrees in a number of areas.
Skifields may have difficulty in opening in some cases, as the blustery conditions may make it too risky for skiers.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday appear to be the most boisterous at this point and hopefully by the weekend, the conditions will be on the improve.
