Winds from the north – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre forecast on Thursday

Thursday is looking fairly settled around the country, with a few spots of showers here and there, some cloud and a bit of wind about.

Northwesterly winds become strong in Southland from afternoon, with the possibilitiy that winds may gust to gale strength at times.

Main Centres

Auckland

A warm day in Auckland, cloudy areas with occasional sun, sun and southwesterly breezes, temperatures in the early 20s possible.

Wellington

Slightly cooler in Wellington, though it should stay mainly sunny, with light winds tending southerly for a time and a high of around 15 – 16C.

Christchurch

Winds from the east pick up along the coast in the afternoon, though it should otherwise stay mostly sunny, and temperatures in the mid to late teens.
