This time we have a strong west to northwesterly airflow covering much of the South Island, and up through Cook Strait.
Winds will be strong for interior parts of the South Island, even gusting to gale about exposed areas.
The same goes for Cook Strait.
Right on the coast, along the east of the South Island, winds will be light to start the day, before northwesterlies pick up in the afternoon.
Winds may then become gusty for some, but it won’t be as strong as inland.
