Wind and Rain warnings across the North Island

Rain and wind warnings are in force over the North Island as we head into Tuesday afternoon.

Heavy rain continues to pour down across the eastern North Island.  MetService has rain warnings out for Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa.  A further 150mm is predicted for Gisborne, 120mm of Hawkes Bay and 100mm for Wairarapa.

Meanwhile wind warnings are now in place for eastern Bay of Plenty, east of Edgecumbe with gales gusting up to 120km/h.

The same warning is also in force for Taupo and Taihape.

The rain has stopped but the Wind has started to increase though not gusty it will seem to be wound in stages up until about 3 or 4pm when it will be Strong.
