Wind and rain for some – and your Main Centre forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

There aren’t too many risks around the country on Wednesday, though there is some wet weather and gusty winds in places.

A rain band moves into South Westland late on Wednesday, before moving further north overnight, taking heavy falls with it.

Northwesterlies blow through Foveaux and Cook Straits too, strongly at times, with gusts up to gale force possible in Cook Strait especially.

Main Centres

Auckland

A cloudy day for the most part, with sunny areas breaking through in the afternoon, along with westerly breezes and a high in the mid to late teens.

Wellington

Sunny spells with brisk northwesterlies and temperatures reaching the mid teens.

Christchurch

Another warm and sunny day for the garden city, with just a touch of high cloud around the place, light winds near the coast and breezy northwesterlies elsewhere – could get into the 20s again, temperature wise.
