Yesterday was a day of violence at the Basin Reserve in Wellington but it had nothing to do with the cricket test between New Zealand and Australia.
The wind howled throughout the day which made conditions extremely unpleasant for everyone involved but it did seem to work in the home teams favour.
The day began with some big gusts coming in from the north under cloudy skies which made it more than a challenge for the visitors, as they struggled with the temperature as well.
The wind seemed to gather momentum throughout the day with some light patchy rain causing a few interruptions in play.
Cameramen had to come down from great heights due to the gale and the covers at one point were almost blown out of the ground as the wind gusts topped the 100kph mark.
Today should see an easing and a clearance and it looks like it is up to the batsmen to save the game for their country.
