Where are the rain clouds now?

A brief period of torrential rain fell across western and northern parts of the North Island this morning as a narrow but active front moved through.

Conditions are quickly clearing in the North Island with our current Rain Tracker showing showers remaining in Northland and Coromandel.

In the South Island rain and showers are affecting Southland along with a gusty cold sou’wester.  It’s currently just 12 degrees going into lunch with a hot nor’wester in Gisborne and Hawkes Bay lifting temperatures to 24 degrees already.
