Got up to about 23 today in Mairangi Bay. We are frequently warmer than the official reading for Auckland.

Don’t believe that :).
My weathers station only reported a high of 19.8 in Torbay, doubt that Mairangi bay could be that much warmer when it is so close.
That is the problem of personal weather stations though, different brands, people locating them incorrectly (next to roofs, concrete etc), stations that simply aren’t correct….

completely true. The amateur stations that are available for a couple hundred dollars are for those with an interest but aren’t too fussed on great accuracy.

@ 1620hrs (North East Invercargill), Current temp 14.3c, Fine, with a Strong Weserly. (1 degree warmer than current Metservice reading) Typically its up to 2 degrees difference in West or Southwest conditions. Todays Max temp 16.2c shortly after midnight!
