Wellington is certainly copping a lot of the rain and cloud from a front that has stalled over the country.
The latest forecast from the Weather Watch Centre says rain will last the rest of the week with rain turning to showers across Saturday and Sunday.
A cold change is also on the way on Sunday as a southerly or sou’easterly kicks in. Sunday’s high, at this stage, is only around 12 or 13 with winds averaging about 30km/h gusting to 60km/h.
There is some good news – a change to easterlies on Monday should bring drier and slightly warmer conditions – especially to regions on the west coast north of Porirua and up the Kapiti Coast.
