Wet weekend on the cards for NZ

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The second Autumn system in days is set to arrive this Friday in the deep south and move into the North Island during the weekend predict WeatherWatch.co.nz forecasters.

The slow moving front, associated with a large low in the Southern Ocean, is likely to bring heavy rain to the west coast of both islands.

A northerly flow associated with the rain band should also mean heavy rain for northern regions in both islands.

WeatherWatch.co.nz says rain will slowly spread from the west across the country over the weekend with a cooler southerly change moving up the east coast of the South Island and Wellington on Saturday and a south west change reaching Auckland by Saturday afternoon or evening bringing clearing skies but a risk of showers.

WeatherWatch.co.nz has 60% confidence of rain or frequent showers right across New Zealand on Saturday which is considered fairly high this far out.

Crown forecasters are also predicting severe weather this weekend issuing a severe weather watch for almost all of New Zealand – see their map below.

Can’t see anything?  Unsure why it’s not working for you Ray.  What are you trying to use onair? Maybe we can send direct to you

Cheers

Phil

Hi Phil, I just like to transfer your info to a wordpad document so I can edit down the parts I want to use as an alternate to the metservice situation, and so having your info directly underneath the copy & pasted metservice forecast saves too much jumping around the screen.

Anything related to Taupo for timelesstaupo.co.nz would be good for a direct send. I.e. your comments about the Ironman this weekend.

What’s happened to the copy and paste facility, getting faint blue text when I highlight and nothing on the ctrl v.

It sure was easier to copy the text of your post to a wordpad file for reading out on-air.
