A wet and windy start to the day for much of the North Island on Tuesday morning, with Auckland, Northland, Waikato, the Coromandel, and the Bay of Plenty all received fairly heavy dumpings of rain – with flooding causing transportation issues in places.
Wind caused problems too, with reports of shingles and roofing coming loose through parts of the Central North Island.
