Westerlies dominate remainder of August

> From the WeatherWatch archives

WeatherWatch.co.nz projects the rest of August will be dominated by winds from the westerly quarter, meaning cloudier and wetter weather in the west and drier, milder, weather in the east.

The prediction by the weather news authority also says there will be a continuation of mild weather over the North Island.

WeatherWatch.co.nz says the next low pressure system should cross New Zealand around Wednesday next week bringing a period of north to north east winds and heavy rain, then winds from the westerly quarter will return.

Some long range models are showing a large high moving in from Australia to kick off the 1st official day of Spring…we’ll keep you posted.
