West Coast – Almost half a metre of rain for some over 4 days

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Up to 400mm is possible in central and southern parts of the West Coast in four days from this Saturday to Wednesday.

The heavy rain is due to a north to north west flow which will will start later this weekend and go through much of next week. This airflow will also push temperatures up by several degrees compared to today.

Rain will set in with heavier falls next week as a low from Australia also moves in. These numbers may go higher when you factor in later next week too.

Check your RuralWeather.co.nz and WeatherWatch.co.nz hyper-local rainfall estimates (powered by IBM, NZ’s most accurate rain forecaster) for more details and keep up to date with any tax funded MetService warnings and watches LIVE here.
