Unsettled weather is set to continue over the country with a breather not expected until Sunday afternoon for most places – and that will be ahead of another low pressure system, potentially bigger than the one affecting New Zealand today.
Today the deep low just off the west coast of New Zealand will slowly weaken as it tracks closer to land. It will drape a front over the lower North Island for much of the day.
During the weekend that front will slide up the North Island’s east coast while winds will ease over the South Island with skies clearing before the next front arrives.
WeatherWatch.co.nz forecasters will be keeping a very close eye on the upcoming low for next week.
