The next few days will be fairly average across the country weatherwise.
However on Saturday a low in the Tasman Sea will cross NZ bringing rain – meanwhile a southerly blast behind it could see snow falling to sea level – briefly.
The system could produce some heavier falls in the mountains and ranges on Saturday – then more so into the North Island on Sunday (Central Plateau and the southern/eastern ranges) on Sunday.
Sunday will be a colder day nationwide – but the sun should also return for many.

Hi Phil,
– Seeing your forecast video looks similair to the snow event Hawkes Bay and Gisborne have just gone through, will the snow levels be familiar and could we again see road closures in and out of Gisborne and the Napier to Taupo Road?

Yes there could well be road closures again for the east coast of the North Island about alpine passes this coming weekend, something to monitor.
