Weekend shaping up nicely for most

> From the WeatherWatch archives

As long as you are not hoping for rain, you are likely to be happy with the outlook for this weekend.  If you are hoping for rain, like many people around Hawkes Bay, you’re going to have to wait a bit longer.

That’s not to say there will be no rain anywhere in New Zealand this weekend.

But, it’s likely to stay in a place where more rain isn’t likely to be welcomed.  The west coast of the South Island will probably see a few showers tomorrow.  Westland has the best chance for precipitation during the early part of the day.  Most of the west coast could see some showers from the afternoon.

Shower chances then shift to Fiordland for Sunday.

Otherwise, the rest of New Zealand is looking dry and settled for this weekend.  The windy conditions seen over the deep south today will back off tomorrow.  The lower North Island could see some breezy conditions tomorrow, but the winds will weaken from what will be seen this evening.

By the way, for those in Hawkes Bay hoping for rain, it looks like your next best chance will be Wednesday afternoon and evening.
