Check back regularly across the weekend for the Weather Watch Centre’s Rain Tracker. This thread is updated regularly across the weekend letting you know where the rain clouds lie and how they’ll affect your weekend – if at all.
Heavy rain is continuing along the South Island’s West Coast this afternoon. Rain and showers are still falling across Southland and Otago with the main band moving into the Nelson Ranges area. We’re estimating the front will reach Wellington to Taranaki tonight.
Elsewhere the rest of NZ remains dry and we don’t expect any precipitation until after dark, if any at all.

Put simply, a very good tool, very accurate and useful so keep it going.
Rest of site is very good also and is becoming my daily weather check site over others.

Hi Derek – appreciate your comments. Hopefully one day we can add graphics too and make it a little more interesting to look at it – although we wouldn’t want to make it too ‘full on’ as the idea behind it is to be detailed but not long-winded.
Thanks again for the feedback, it’s appreciated!
