WEEKEND “NOT TOO FRIENDLY” FOR HOLIDAYMAKERS

Anzac weekend will start mostly fine across the country but a sub-tropical low will mean rain and wind for many.  “The weather is not looking too friendly for holidaymakers this long weekend.  It will start of dry and mostly fine on Friday and Saturday morning, with cloud and winds spreading from the north on Saturday.  Rain will spread down the country on Saturday night meaning Sunday will be wet for a number of places.  The only good news is that it will be mild”.

The rain and warmer temperatures will be welcome news to Waikato, Taranaki, Manawatu and Wairarapa as they continue to recover from a drought that lasted several months and only recently ended.

“The low will deepen in the Tasman Sea with heaviest rain falls likely in Taranaki and Nelson during Saturday night and Sunday morning.  Heavy rain is also possible over Northland, Bay of Plenty and Bay of Plenty but our confidence levels aren’t so high there at this stage”.
