Weekend Newsfeed: High pressure is back… but not perfectly for all

High pressure is moving into NZ although it will be mostly centred over the Tasman Sea which means windy westerlies will blow through some regions, mainly to the south of both main islands. Wellington with have blustery northerlies over Saturday and Sunday which may gust to gale force.

But most places are dry and calmer – with just a few isolated showers here and there, mainly coastal.

There might also be some extra cloud around. The longer, cooler, nights plus mild days and mild seas means a blanket of cloud can develop for some places and linger until the afternoon heat burns it off.

Don’t forget our new App has a FOG forecaster, FROST forecaster and hourly cloud graphs for all locations in NZ… and they are FREE to view.
