A cold front is moving north up the South Island on Wednesday and will cross the North Island on Friday.
On Friday a new low in the northern Tasman Sea will rapidly deepen then cross the upper North Island on Saturday.
There are low risks of gales, flooding rains and thunderstorms at this early stage – so it’s one to watch. On Sunday a colder south to south west flow sweeps across New Zealand.
