A westerly quarter airflow lies over the country today, a weakening front passes over the North Island so that brings a few showers in the west but starting to dry up this afternoon. Rain for the West Coast of the South Island, dry in the east.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Showers, clearing in the afternoon with sunny areas increasing. Bay Of Plenty has a dry day with morning cloud breaking to mostly sunny weather. Southwesterly winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning showers clearing up with sun breaking through although the odd one remains south of Palmerston North, in the evening showers move back in again. Westerly winds.

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny, some high cloud for a time. West to northwesterly winds.

Wellington
Mostly sunny, morning and evening cloud. A few spits possible later in the day. North to northwesterly winds.
