A northerly quarter airflow lies over New Zealand today, rain is heavy at times for the West Coast. Warm temperatures in the east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, chance of a shower, more so in the east. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of sun and cloud, northerly winds.
Highs: 14-19

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with a touch of high cloud, light north to northeasterly winds. Winds tend northwest in the afternoon for Wairarapa.
Highs: 17-20

Wellington

Partly cloudy with breezy north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Marlborough & Nelson

Nelson is cloudy with a few showers, turning to rain overnight. Marlborough has sun and some high cloud. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-19

Canterbury

High cloud, some sun at times. A few spits possible in the high country close to the Main Divide. Northerly winds.
Highs: 18-21

West Coast

Showers turn to rain this morning, a few heavy falls possible. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Southland & Otago
Mostly cloudy, scattered rain about the lakes district, spits of rain for Southland from midday. Rain more persistent overnight for Southland as light northerlies change southwest.
Highs: 18-20
