Wednesday’s national forecast – Fairly settled for now, but not in the days ahead (+14 Maps)

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Wednesday and Thursday are both fairly settled across New Zealand with lighter winds and only a few showers.

The air around the country is fairly mild at the moment with daytime temperatures a few to several degrees above normal by day and it becomes even milder on Thursday/Friday as a northerly flow starts to develop.

Stormy westerlies continue to blast across southern Australia in a consistent manner not often seen and those windy conditions from the west will continue to send rain makers in to western NZ along with milder conditions.

The maps below are smaller than we usually post – please zoom the page to view the key and details more clearly.
