A low pressure system now to the northeast of the North Island pulls a southwesterly airflow over the Island, cloud and showers affect Wellington and eastern regions. The odd shower for mainly western areas of Auckland and Northland this morning also. For the South Island conditons are mainly settled although cloudy for some, rain moves into the far south.

Northland, Auckland
Cloudy spells with a few sunny breaks at times, southwest breezes. The odd shower passes through now and then mainly in the morning.
Highs: 16-17

Central North Island, Bay Of Plenty & Waikato
Mostly sunny about the Bay Of Plenty with areas of morning cloud clearing, fairly sunny about the Central North Island and Waikato too however there may be some morning fog and then some cloud at times during the day. Light south to southwest breezes.
Highs: 14-18

Eastern North Island
Mainly cloudy with south to southwest breezes, the odd shower at times with dry spells too. Showers clear in the evening.
High: 16

Western North Island
Cloudy spells about southern Taranaki southwards with southerly breezes, chance of the odd shower at times. Sunny spells further north with drier conditions.
Highs: 14-16

Wellington
Mostly cloudy with southerly breezes, the odd shower mainly morning. Cloud breaks up later in the evening.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny and cloudy spells about Marlborough with light south to southeast breezes. Sunny skies for Nelson, light winds.
High: 14-15

Canterbury
Morning low cloud or fog then afternoon sunny spells, some high cloud in the afternoon also with light northeasterlies.
Highs: 13-14

West Coast
Sunny and cloudy spells with light winds, some rain south of the Glaciers after midday then moving north at night.
Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago
Some rain developing about Southland and Central Otago in the morning with light northerlies. Thick high cloud to start out east then some rain may move in during the afternoon.
Highs: 11-12
