Anticyclonic for most of New Zealand on Wednesday. A front approaches the lower South Island from the west moving in overnight.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny, southwesterly winds.
Highs: 26-29

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning cloud with the risk of a shower then sunny areas increase, light winds tend westerly in the afternoon.
Highs: 23-26

Eastern North Island
Sunny with afternoon east to northeast winds.
Highs: 26-28

Wellington
Sunny with light northerly winds.
High: 23-24

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with afternoon north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 25-28

Canterbury
Any morning cloud clears then sunny with freshening east to northeasterly winds in the afternoon.
Highs: 26-28

West Coast
Mostly sunny after any morning cloud breaks away, cloud thickens in the afternoon for Fiordland with the odd shower then rain develops overnight. North to northeasterly winds for South Westland, afternoon westerlies for North Westland.
Highs: 21-28

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny with some high cloud later in the day, northerly winds for most however east to northeast winds for coastal Otago. Overnight showers for Southland.
Highs: 23-31
