A southeasterly airflow eases over the North Island today, mainly settled for the South Island with anticyclonic conditions.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning showers clear, some afternoon sun breaks through. Showers may not clear about the Bay Of Plenty till evening. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny areas and high cloud, east to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-21

Eastern North Island
Cloudy with some rain for Hawkes Bay and Gisborne, rain heavy at times for East Cape then easing there overnight. The Wairarapa is mainly dry then a patchy shower or two may move through in the afternoon / evening. East to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

Wellington
Sunny with light east to northeasterly winds.
High: 17

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds tending north to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 16-19

Canterbury
Sunny with east to northeast winds freshening in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-16

West Coast
Mostly sunny with west to southwesterly winds, Fiordland sees a few showers however. Inland Buller sees the warmest afternoon temperatures.
Highs: 14-17

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny with some increasing high cloud, north to northwesterly winds for most however tending northeast along the Otago coast.
Highs: 11-17
