An anticyclone covers most of New Zealand today, a northwesterly airflow slowly pushes in over the South Island also bringing warm temperatures.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny, light winds tend onshore in the afternoon in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny with west to northwesterly winds, some cloud at times for Kapiti.
Highs: 14-16

Eastern North Island
Morning cloud with southwesterlies dying away, a sunny afternoon with winds tending east to northeast.
High: 15-17

Wellington
Cloudy areas and occasional sun with northwesterly winds picking up from afternoon.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with afternoon north to northwesterly winds.
Highs:16-20

Canterbury
Sunny with coastal east to northeast winds, northwesterlies for inland areas bring warm temperatures.
Highs: 17-21

West Coast
Sunny spells, cloud thickens up in the evening and drizzle moves into Fiordland. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny with some increasing high cloud, northwesterly winds for most however northeasterlies about coastal Otago keeps temperatures a little cooler.
Highs: 15-20
