A northwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today with a few showers or some rain in the west, mainly dry in the east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of isolated showers and sunny spells, light northerlies tend west to northwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 16-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny spells with the a shower or two, long dry periods also. Northwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-15

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny weather, some cloud about northern Hawkes Bay / Gisborne may bring a shower or two spreading from the west at times however. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-18

Wellington
Mostly sunny with breezy northwesterly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with some high cloud possible, north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-17

Canterbury
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-17

West Coast
Showers or areas of rain, northerly winds.
Highs: 11-13

Southland & Otago
Some cloud may bring a shower or two late morning or around midday then mostly sunny, northwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-14
