A ridge lies over New Zealand today with high pressure centred to the north and south of the country.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Some cloud, may be some morning fog. A shower or two at times about western coastal fringes the spreading elsewhere from late morning. The Bay Of Plenty has a mainly dry and sunny day. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning fog patches possible then expect sunny spells, a few isolated showers develop in the afternoon. Light winds tend westerly around midday.
Highs: 9-13

Eastern North Island
Cloudy areas about the Wairarapa with the odd shower, mainly sunny further north then there may be a shower or two late afternoon / evening. Light southwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-13

Wellington
Showers, clearing in the afternoon then some sun breaks through. Southerlies die out in the evening.
High: 10

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning showers clear then sunny spells develop in the afternoon, southeasterlies die away.
High: 9-12

Canterbury
Morning cloud with the chance of a shower then sunny spells increase, light winds tend east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 8-9

West Coast
Mostly sunny weather, there may be a touch of high cloud. Later in the evening or overnight cloud thickens with showers or some rain. Light winds.
Highs: 8-12

Southland & Otago
Sunny after any morning fog breaks away, mainly inland. Areas of cloud about coastal Otago during the day may bring a light shower or two. Overnight cloud thickens for all with spots of rain. Light northeasterly winds.
Highs: 7-10
