A southeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, strong about the upper North Island. Northland should see some heavy rain.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning cloud breaks to some afternoon sun, showers for the Coromandel and northern parts of Auckland. Northland sees rain during the day with heavy falls. Breezy east to southeasterly winds, winds are strong about eastern coastal fringes, also places like Great Barrier Island.
Highs: 13-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy areas and occasional sun, southeasterly winds.
Highs: 9-14

Eastern North Island
Cloudy skies with patchy rain or drizzle, cool southeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-12

Wellington
Cloudy areas, may be a shower or two otherwise fairly dry. Cool southeasterly winds.
High: 11

Marlborough & Nelson
Some morning sun then cloud thickens up from afternoon, breezy east to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-13

Canterbury
Fairly cloudy with the odd drizzle patch about, parts of inland South Canterbury see some afternoon sun. Light winds.
Highs: 8-10

West Coast
Sunny weather with light southeasterly winds.
Highs: 12-13

Southland & Otago
Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, light winds.
Highs: 8-9
