A ridge lies over most of New Zealand today, a few patchy showers for most North Island regions although it may remain mainly dry in the south and west south of Taranaki.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Clear at first then a few showers from late morning, clearing late afternoon or evening. The Bay Of Plenty sees the shower risk this morning then drying out from afternoon. Easterly winds.
High: 24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, some afternoon cloud brings the risk of a shower otherwise mainly dry. East to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 19-24

Eastern North Island
A mostly cloudy day, some patchy drizzle, especially this morning, dry spells more frequent from afternoon. East to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-20

Wellington
Mostly sunny with southeasterly winds.
High: 21

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning cloud then a mostly sunny afternoon, cloud builds inland about the ranges in the afternoon however. Afternoon east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 20-22

Canterbury
A mostly cloudy morning then afternoon sunny spells, east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-20

West Coast
Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 19-23

Southland & Otago
A mostly sunny morning however expect cloud and the risk of a shower about coastal Southland. In the afternoon westerly quarter winds tend more southerly bringing increasing cloud, especially for coastal areas.
Highs: 17-21
