A front lingers over Northland today, reinvigorating later on with some heavy rain possible meanwhile the rest of New Zealand sits under a ridge of high pressure.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells and high cloud, southerly winds. Northland is cloudy all day with areas of patchy rain or drizzle, rain may become heavy late afternoon or evening. Light winds tend southeasterly in the afternoon.
Highs: 22-26

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Any early cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, westerly breezes.
Highs: 20-21

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny after any early cloud clears, light winds tend easterly in the afternoon. Gisborne is fairly cloudy then sun breaks through from afternoon.
Highs: 23-26

Wellington

Mostly sunny with some high cloud. Light winds.
High: 19

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds in the morning for Marlborough, southwesterlies for Nelson. Afternoon east to northeasterly winds.
High: 22

Canterbury

Sunny with light winds in the morning then afternoon easterlies.
High: 22

West Coast

A few morning showers about South Westland, morning cloud further north then mostly sunny from afternoon. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-20

Southland & Otago

Chance of a morning shower or two about Southland, cloud breaking away later in the afternoon or evening to some sun. A mix of sun and cloud for Otago. Breezy west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-21
