Upper North Island

Mostly cloudy with a few showers, mainly morning south of Auckland and afternoon further to the north. West tp southwesterly breezes. Sunny spells break through this afternoon about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty.

Lower North Island

A few morning showers clear then sunny areas increase this afternoon, westerly winds. A mix of sun and cloud along the east coast, light southerlies tend easterly this afternoon. Wellington sees sun and cloud also, northerlies from afternoon.

Upper South Island

A mix of sun and cloud along the West Coast, west to southwesterly winds. Nelson is mainly sunny, afternoon northerlies. Mostly cloudy along the east coast with easterly winds, showers develop late afternoon / evening about South Canterbury then a few light showers spreading elsewhere overnight (mainly coastal).

Lower South Island

Mostly cloudy about Southland, chance of a shower during the day with gusty west to southwesterly winds. Coastal Otago sees cloud build this morning, chance of a shower from afternoon with gusty southwesterlies. A mix of sun and cloud for inland areas with lighter winds.
