Wednesday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Plenty of rain and showers will be seen across the country today.

Some heavier falls are possible about Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula this morning and then the Bay of Plenty and eastern Waikato this afternoon.  Tonight, heavy rain may fall about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.  Government forecaster MetService is continuing their Heavy Rain warnings for Bay of Plenty west of Whakatane, including Rotorua.  Heavy rain warnings are also in effect for Northwest Nelson ranges.

Elsewhere generally persistent rains are expected, but any heavy falls are not expected to be widespread enough to prompt warnings.
