A ridge now lies over the North Island today bringing mainly settled and sunny weather, some cloud still persists in the east however, also about eastern Northland. For the South Island a northerly airflow develops, cloud moves into the west while out east conditions remain sunny.

Eastern North Island
Sunny with light winds about the Wairarapa, morning cloud clears to a
mostly sunny day about Hawkes Bay. Cloudy in the morning about Gisborne with the
chance of a light shower, sunny spells develop in the afternoon with light
southerlies easing.

Western North Island
Sunny with light easterlies, some cloud possible at times about northern
Taranaki.
Sunny with light winds tending northerly in the afternoon, northerlies
increase from evening.

Sunny with light winds inland tending northeasterly near the coast.
Sunny with light winds, areas of cloud increase from midday about South
Westland and from late afternoon further north. Drizzle moves into South
Westland in the evening.
Sunny with some high cloud moving in later in the day, northeasterly

afternoon.
