A ridge spreads onto the country today bringing mainly settled weather, southwesterly winds ease across New Zealand.

Auckland & Northland
Sunny spells with light winds, tending southwest. Chance of an isolated shower in the afternoon otherwise dry.
High: 18-20

Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with light winds, low risk of an isolated afternoon shower any of which clear in the evening.
High: 18

Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny with a few clouds about, low risk of an afternoon isolated shower.
Light winds tend westerly or southwest.
Highs: 16-18

Eastern North Island

Showers about Wairarapa spread into Hawkes Bay during the afternoon.
Gisborne may see a shower or two in the evening. Expect southwesterly winds with
sunny spells at first about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island

Cloudy periods with southwesterly winds south of Wanganui, a period of
afternoon showers then clearing in the evening. Skies clearing up overnight.
About Taranaki expect dry conditions, sunny spells with light winds.
Highs: 15-16

Wellington

Showers, clearing in the evening. Cool southerly winds.
High: 12

Nelson

Chance of an early shower then clearing to mostly sunny weather, light
winds.
High: 16

Marlborough

Cloudy periods with southwesterly winds, chance of the odd shower any of
which clear in the evening. Cloud then breaks.
Highs: 14-15

Canterbury

Any early showers clear, morning cloud clearing to a mostly sunny
afternoon. Southwesterlies ease dying out later in the evening.
Highs: 13

West Coast

Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 15-16

Coastal Otago

Sunny with light winds tending easterly in the afternoon.
High: 12

Southland & Central Otago

Sunny after a frosty start, light winds.
Highs: 12-14
