A mostly sunny day across much the country, some cloud still catches Gisborne in the southerly airflow which runs into the east coast of the North Island. A front approaches the far south with rain moving into Southland in the evening.

Auckland & Northland
Sunny with southerlies tending southwest in the afternoon, a few clouds at times from midday but still mostly sunny. About eastern Northland expect afternoon northeasterlies there.

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with south to southeast breezes, easing in the evening. Afternoon sea
breezes for the Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 23-25

Eastern North Island

Sunny about the Wairarapa, a few clouds at times about Hawkes Bay and
slightly cloudier skies about Gisborne with the chance of a light shower there
in the morning. South to southwest breezes ease later in the day.
Highs: 22-23

Western North Island

Sunny with light winds and afternoon westerlies, late evening cloud moves
in. For Taranaki expect mainly sunny weather with some late evening cloud also,
however expect southerlies in the morning then afternoon southwesterlies.
Highs: 22-24

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northerly breezes, increasing in the evening with some
cloud developing then too.
Highs: 19-20

Nelson

Sunny with light winds and afternoon sea breezes, some evening cloud
develops. Warmest temperatures inland. Winds tend southwest overnight.
Highs: 22-25

Marlborough

Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon easterlies near the coast
and winds tend northerly elsewhere. High cloud moves in during the
evening.
Highs: 24-27

Canterbury

Any morning cloud breaks away to mostly sunny weather, some high cloud
develops from afternoon. Northeasterly breezes with the warmest temperatures in
inland sheltered areas.
Highs: 23-25

West Coast

Cloudy spells with sunny breaks at times, southwesterly breezes. Showers
move into Fiordland in the evening then turning to rain there overnight with
heavy falls.
High: 18

Coastal Otago

Mostly sunny with northeasterly breezes after any morning cloud clears,
some high cloud gradually develops but not thickening till late afternoon or
evening. Overnight winds change southwest with some rain.
Highs: 20-22

Central Otago

Mostly sunny with west to northwest breezes, high cloud increases from
morning. Overnight a southwest change brings some rain.
Highs: 23-26

Southland

Sunny with high cloud increasing from morning, northwesterlies winds
freshen with warm temperatures. In the evening a southwest change brings some
rain.
Highs: 23-24
