Wednesday’s freezing start to the day!

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It’s looking mostly calm and settled across New Zealand on Wednesday, with a large high pressure system in place overhead.

It has been a frosty start for many though – with several places in the negatives to start the day with a shiver!

Temperatures shortly before sunrise…

  • Taumarunui: -4.2C (feels like -6!)
  • Taupo: -3.3C
  • Wellington: 4.1C
  • Gore: 1.2C
  • Alexandra: -1.8C
  • Queenstown: -2.7

The real action starts tomorrow – as much of the South Island is in for some localised snowfall – watch this space for more info!
