Fairly settled over the North Island tonight under the continued presence of a ridge of high pressure, a front stalls and weakens over the top half of the South Island while in behind it over the lower South Island another ridge sneaks in bringing clearing skies. Watch for some fog by dawn however over the lower South Island.

Auckland & Northland
Mainly clear skies overnight with light winds, westerlies ease this evening. There could be a fog patch or two about inland Northland.
Lows tonight: 7-9

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Mainly clear skies with light west to southwest winds, there could be some morning fog tomorrow about inland sheltered areas.
Lows tonight: 4-7

Eastern North Island
Mainly clear with some high cloud about Wairarapa. Northeasterly breezes ease this evening near the coast.
Lows tonight: 7-8

Western North Island
Mainly clear with some cloud about northern Taranaki, northwesterly breezes. Skies becoming cloudy overnight about Kapiti however with the chance of a drizzle patch there by dawn.
Low tonight: 8-11

Wellington
Mostly cloudy with strong northerlies easing a little this evening.
Low tonight: 13

Nelson
Clear with some cloud, cloud thickens up overnight. Breezy northeasterlies ease this evening.
Low tonight: 10

Marlborough
High cloud with strong northwesterlies easing this evening.
Lows tonight: 9-10

Canterbury
Thick high cloud, a few showers move into South Cantebury this evening then further north later this evening with northerly winds changing southerly. Showers clear overnight or towards dawn tomorrow.
Lows tonight: 8-9

West Coast
Rain eases overnight, light northerly winds.
Lows tonight: 11-12

Coastal Otago
Showers ease then clear later this evening, southerlies tend northeast overnight. Chance of fog towards dawn.
Low tonight: 7

Southland & Central Otago
Remaining showers clearing this evening, westerly winds ease tending northerly overnight. Could be a fog patch or two towards dawn tomorrow.
Lows tonight: 2-4
