The anticyclone that gave us sunny weather across the country today doesn’t last very long and moves eastwards overnight. A northerly airflow gradually develops with areas of cloud spreading in from the west overnight.

Mostly cloudy with east to northeast winds.

Auckland
Some high cloud, thickening and lowering overnight. Northeasterly winds.
Low tonight: 8

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Mainly clear skies with some increasing high cloud, general areas of cloud increase about the Bay Of Plenty towards dawn. Light north to northeasterly winds.
Lows tonight: 3-5

Eastern North Island
Mainly clear skies with northeasterlies easing this evening, some high cloud develops overnight.
Lows tonight: 2-4

Wellington & Western North Island
Clear skies with northerly breezes, high cloud develops overnight.
Low tonight: 5-8

Nelson
Clear skies, some high cloud develops overnight. Northerlies ease away this evening.
Low tonight: 5

Marlborough
Some high cloud develops overnight, northwesterlies ease this evening.

Canterbury
Some high cloud develops later this evening, easterly breezes ease this evening.
