Wednesday Newsfeed: Warmer than average for most, 30+ possible

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Warmer to hotter weather is kicking in today for a number of places. On top of the warmth there’s humidity in the mix too, thanks to a partial sub-tropical flow.

Waikato, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Canterbury and Marlborough all look to reach the late 20s today, maybe low 30s as temperatures climb. Some places will notice a cooler change by Friday.

Most places are dry – even if a bit cloudy today – but rain moves into Fiordland and and will spill over into parts of Southland and Otago (with lowest rainfall totals the further north or east you are). Use your hourly rain forecast we have at WeatherWatch or RuralWeather along with MetService real time rain radar.
