Tuesday’s cooler change may be more noticeable in the North Island today as windy south to south-west winds blow up the nation. The windy weather is on the outer edges of an enormous belt of high pressure that stretches from Tasmania in the Southern Ocean all the way up the Tasman Sea, the Coral Sea and as far north as Cyclone Jasper in northern Queensland.
