High pressure is exiting NZ and a front is moving in from the west. It will weaken on Thursday and Friday as it tries to move up the North Island, surrounded by more high pressure.
Ahead of the front (and as the high moves away to the east) a windier nor’west flow kicks in – mostly for the South Island and Cook Strait areas.
A reminder – our next ClimateWatch update (covering expected rainfall and temperature trends this month) is out this afternoon (delayed a couple days due to Easter Weekend).
