The week ahead looks windier as west to south west winds build across both islands bringing rain and showers to western and southern regions of both islands, and windy often dry weather to the east.
A couple of cold fronts this week will bring rain into Canterbury again, hopefully short lived though.
Temperatures will drop for most places to about average levels. A high should roll in to the top half of the North Island by Friday.

Always laugh the way forecasters write “Fronts WILL move over” A high “should/may” cover…. the certainty or uncertainty of a given type of weather.
