We have a extensive forecast covering the timings of the tropical storm coming in, who will have the wettest weather and where the strongest winds are likely to be.
At this stage the low is likely to make landfall around Fiordland on Thursday daytime, bringing potentially damaging winds and flooding rains to parts of the West Coast and maybe even Southland and coastal Otago later.
There’s a big cool down coming after it too with Central Otago dropping by as much as 20 degrees for the daytime highs compared to the start of this week.
The North Island misses the worst of the storm but heavy rain is likely late Thursday and into Friday morning with humidity peaking on Thursday but easing back a bit on Friday.
