Weather Video: The windy westerlies are only just starting to wake up

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A large area of low pressure is crossing the country over the next 24 hours bringing more rain but the winds won’t be too bad and will come from a variety of directions as it circles around this large low that covers the entire country.

When we get to Wednesday the nor’westers will be returning and they’ll be sub-tropical for some in the north and more Australian for those further south.

The winds only increase further over Thursday and Friday as a big blast of energy from the Southern Ocean and our west moves in.

We take a detailed look at the forecast until Friday – and heads up, the weekend is looking similar too.
